Romantic Geographic Society R.G.S.
RGS is a hypothetical - poetic construction, a conceptual frame, but somehow it has been also a working organization. It was founded in 1994 after long lasting romantic and geographic activity & field work. RGS have organized expeditions, joyful picnics and adventurous explorations. The quantity of the society's activities has changed through the times. The most visible activities have been exhibitions and lectures. Rgs was founded by the artist Jussi Kivi. The active member of the organization have been also the artist, passionate amateur researcher and writer Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen. Also the RGS member of honour, artist and passionate wanderer Tero Kontinen has been an active member of the society.
Since 2008 RGS have been in collaboration with The School of Esoteric Geography (S.E.G.). Today RGS is principally part of an amorphous and great, free society of individual explorers and researchers. Successful cooperation has been done: meetings, conferences and expeditions.
